Niokolo-Koba National Park is a vast UNESCO World Heritage wilderness along the Gambia River in southeastern Senegal, protecting Sudano-Guinean savanna, gallery forests and one of West Africa's last populations of lion, leopard, African wild dog, elephant and the critically endangered Derby eland.
