What is a gorilla permit?
A gorilla permit is an official entry ticket, that a traveler purchases and allows them to have a secure and guided walk through the tropical rain forest, to see and witness the gorillas in their habitats. The walk takes you about 2-8 hours, depending on their location in the forest. A gorilla permit works once, and this allows you to see the gorillas one on one for 1 hour.
When is the best time to see the gorillas?
You can see the gorillas anytime of the year, but when buying the gorilla permits, you need to buy them in time, most especially in the months of June, July, August, September, November, where many tourists come to Africa and for this, there is always scarcity of the gorilla permits.

How long is gorilla trekking?
Gorilla trekking takes from 1-8 hours and this includes walking to the gorillas, and one hour with the gorillas as you experience their habitats, witnessing their behaviors. How do I cancel my gorilla permit?
If you choose to cancel your gorilla trekking permit, a request to do so within eight (8) days to the tracking date shall attract no refunds from UWA.
If your requests for cancellation of a permit falls between nine (09) to forty-five (45) days to the tracking date, the booker will be entitled to 25% of the permit value.
A request to cancel a permit between forty-six (46) to ninety (90) days to the tracking date will give you back 50% of the permit value.
A client requesting cancellation of a permit ninety-one (91) days and more to the tracking date shall be entitled to 75% of the permit value.
