Remarkably, a giraffe’s legs exceed the height of an average human, measuring up to six feet, with their front legs longer than their hind legs. Even their tongue, extending up to 18 inches, showcases their elongated features. This remarkable appendage, both strong and flexible, enables giraffes to skillfully grasp and strip leaves from thorny branches, underscoring their unique adaptations to their environment.

Giraffe calves are undeniably sizable yet incredibly endearing! At birth, these “calfs” can weigh up to 150 pounds and stand an impressive 6 feet tall. Their mothers give birth standing up, resulting in a 5-foot drop to the ground for the newborns. Despite this rough welcome, giraffe calves showcase their resilience by standing and walking within just an hour or so of birth.
