Samburu National Reserve in Northern Kenya is a unique and premier game reserve known for its rich and diverse wildlife, including many species rarely seen in other Kenyan parks. Situated along the banks of the Ewaso Ng'iro River, the reserve spans 165 square kilometers of pristine wilderness.
The Samburu Special Five
Among Samburu's most celebrated wildlife are the Samburu "Special Five" — animals mostly unique to this area of Kenya and not commonly found in popular reserves like Masai Mara or Amboseli. These include:
- Grevy's Zebra: Known for its narrow stripes, found mostly in northern Kenya.
