Nyumba ya Mabadiliko in Magomeni Mikumi, Dar es Salaam is a local Swahili House with 10 Bedrooms, outdoor dining and lounge sitting room, backyard garden with kitchen, store each room with own bathroom, most rooms have interconnecting doors. This is more of a Cultural Melting Pot place to stay in, it is not touristic, a few other guest houses in the neighborhood but you are living in a local environment here, you wont be bumping into other tourists on your street, you will just be meeting local people. Nyumba ya Mabadiliko is a typical Swahili House with 6 rooms in the main house with a wide corridor down the center, a walled courtyard with a long concrete bench, with a back yard house with two more guest rooms, which includes kitchen, store, bathroom and toilet. A baraza (in front of the house terrace), you in Africa, Tanzania with the most friendliest people on the planet. House has been renovated recently with almost all rooms with interconnecting doors, all rooms have their own front separate doors. Lounge, outdoor dining area and backyard court. Increasingly, people are looking for 'experiential' travel and seek to achieve this by staying in less 'touristy' neighborhoods, choosing to eat and drink away from the beaten track, and interact with locals in an attempt to uncover more hidden gems and Nyumba ya Mabadiliko are trying to offer just that. Interaction with Guests. As much as you like we speak fluent Kiswahili too if they wish to learn, also speak some German being of mixed race German/Tanzanian. Very easy to mix with the locals. The Nyumba ya Mabadiliko is a simple Swahili House located in a quite sleepy Swahili neighborhood of Magomeni Mikumi, close to the city center and just 3km out of town on the main Morogoro Road. We are close to the airport, the Ubungo Regional Bus Terminal, Tazara and Central Line Railway Stations and the Seaport and harbor where speed boats depart to Zanzibar and Pemba Islands. Magomeni Mikumi is Friendly, Safe and Secure. Locals play bao and cards on the road sides drinking coffee. Mishkaki (meat skewers) and Nyama Choma (BBQ) and fried bananas in the streets, goes down well in the local bars and even pork joints are available in this mixed multicultural cosmopolitan local part of Dar es Salaam. Famous Taarab venues are numerous in this Swahili neighborhood. The famous Magomeni market selling everything is just down the road and it still offers reasonable prices compared to other markets in Dar es Salaam. Lots of public transport apart from daladalas the local buses, you have tuctucs called bajaj, taxis and motorbike taxis all around, rapid transport system is 5 min walk away, actually you could walk into town or even hire a bicycle if you want to go very local.
