Like a small jewel in the Selous vicinity, near Mloka village; this lodge offers a breathtaking view of the Rufiji River which runs just few meters away from the Lodge's edge. Selous Mapumziko Lodge has 7 well finished Mud-Bandas (typical village mud houses), 3 standard tents, 1 family standard tent and a wide campsite with a kitchen, toilet facilities, & camping fire place where you can enjoy some stories in the evening as you enjoy your favorite local beer or wine. Each Banda has a very specious room area with a bathroom with flush toilet and running water. The roof is made of local grass allowing the Banda interior to have a cool temperature all day and night long. The drive from Dar es Salaam to Selous Mapumziko Lodge takes about 5 to 6 hours covering 230 kms. (150 km on tarmac and 80 km on rough but well maintained road). It takes ONLY less than 20 minutes from the lodge to Mtemere Southward Gate.
