Bale Mountains National Park protects a vast highland wilderness in southeastern Ethiopia, including the Sanetti Plateau and the ancient Harenna Forest. It is the best place in the world to see the endangered Ethiopian wolf, alongside mountain nyala, giant molerats and many endemic birds, and it offers superb trekking, horse riding and birdwatching.
