Nsumbu National Park, Zambia

Nsumbu National Park lies on the remote south-western shore of Lake Tanganyika, protecting a rare combination of pristine freshwater beaches, rugged escarpment and miombo woodland. The park is home to elephant, buffalo, hippo, crocodile and recovering populations of lion and other predators, while the lake teems with hundreds of endemic cichlid fish species. Its palm-fringed bays and clear waters offer swimming, snorkelling and boating found nowhere else in Zambia.
