Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda
Murchison Falls is Uganda's largest national park, where the mighty Nile squeezes through a 7-metre gorge before crashing 43 metres in a thunderous cascade. The park protects elephants, lions, giraffes, buffalo and hippos across open savanna, and boat trips to the base of the falls and the Nile delta offer superb wildlife and birdwatching, including the rare shoebill.
