Senkele Swayne's Hartebeest Sanctuary, Ethiopia
Senkele is a small protected grassland sanctuary between Shashemene and Hawassa, established specifically to protect the endemic and endangered Swayne's hartebeest. Its rolling open plains and scattered woodland also support oribi, Bohor reedbuck, warthog, greater spotted hyena and numerous grassland birds, offering rewarding walking and game viewing.
