Naute Recreation Resort centres on the Naute Dam, the third-largest dam in Namibia, tucked among rugged hills and rocky ridges in the arid south not far from Keetmanshoop. Fed by the Löwen River, the reservoir forms a serene expanse of blue water that provides a striking contrast to the surrounding dry, thornbush-covered landscape and serves as an important water source for the region, including nearby date and vineyard cultivation.
