Tsodilo Hills, Botswana

Tsodilo Hills is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Botswana's remote north-west, revered as one of the highest concentrations of rock art in the world with over 4,500 paintings preserved across its quartzite outcrops. Known to the San as the Mountain of the Gods, the four hills rise dramatically from the Kalahari sands and hold deep spiritual and archaeological significance spanning tens of thousands of years. Visitors explore guided heritage trails, ancient paintings and sweeping desert views rather than traditional game viewing.
